"Resistance" often arises just before we undertake something that can accelerate our transformation.

What does resistance look like?

It often shows up as a LOUD voice, with a convincing narrative or story. Coming up with excuses or reasons NOT to do something like a class or session, activity or event.

"This isn't for me", "I'm not good enough/ I am not ready, I am not fit enough or spiritual enough for this", etc.

Sometimes resistance shows up in other ways, where we get sick or something happens so we can’t  participate in the event, which is often followed by a voice in the mind saying; "now I can't join/go..." and here we don’t have to take responsibility, as we are victim to it.

Other times resistance shows up as fear: fear of going to a new country, fear of going to a workshop where you don't know anyone, etc.

It can also show up as overconfidence; I am better than, I don’t need that, or as projection.

Resistance is really a version of self sabotage.

Why does it arise?

We often make the mistake of thinking that the voice of resistance is our intuition. "I really should skip class today and lie in bed instead"...that's not intuition- that's resistance! Why does it arise? There are forces within us that try to keep us locked safely into our comfortable patterns. This force is often called “ego." It is trying to maintain the status quo and is there to make us feel safe. When we are about to take a big step that will open us and transform us, the ego feels threatened. It tries to find a way to cling to the old, safe patterns.

Tracking

Right now we are tracking it, we are learning what it is and how to track it. How it shows up for each of us is unique.

Begin to notice what thought Resistance works with  (I can’t, I won’t, It won’t, There is no way etc) Often resistance works with Limitations.

What do you truly desire (outcome) Remember your desired outcome - Why you signed up for the class, why you booked the session or flight or whatever…

Affirmations

How can you shift the narrative (story you tell yourself) into something more empowering. - I Naomi Love come from a Loving universe (story may be I am not supported or loved)

People don’t accept me - What about - I am accepting of others and in that am also accepted.
